Swimmer's Ear
You can help prevent Swimmer's Ear by
doing some preventative medicine (please remember that I am
a parent and not a Doctor, so please take this advise
accordingly). You can prevent Swimmer's Ear by making sure
the ear canal stays dry. The easiest way we have found to do
that is to use a product called Auro-Dri. Auro-Dri is a
liquid solution that is 95% Isopropyl alcohol and can be
bought at any local pharmacy. We simply put 3-4 drops in an
ear each night when the kids go to bed. We alternate ears
each night. You can also make your own solution with 50%
distilled vinegar and 50% rubbing alcohol. A little
preventative medicine can save your swimmers a lot of pain
and can keep them swimming for the remainder of the season.
