CRAIG ROBERTS
Head Coach Hi Blue Dolphins! My name is Craig Roberts and I am so excited for another summer as the head coach for the LNSRC Swim Team. I’m very much looking forward to a summer filled with excitement, encouragement, and of course, FUN as we all work to become stronger, more confident swimmers. For those of you that don’t know me, I grew up in Virginia Beach and enjoyed my summers spending as little time on dry land as possible. I was a proud member of the Alanton-Baycliff Bolts where I developed a love for swim team, and the sense of community that comes with playing, training, and racing in the pool with your friends and family. I carried this love for swimming through high school as a member of the First Colonial swim team. I have 3 kids (11, 8, 6) all of whom swim for Little Neck, and I have loved to watch them grow and thrive in the same chlorinated atmosphere that I did as a kid. I have coached in a youth sports capacity on and off since 2009, but consistently since 2019 for Beach FC. I love making a connection with my players, and watching them become better athletes and more confident individuals. As head coach I will continue to bring enthusiasm and encouragement to every practice and meet, nurture an atmosphere of fun and positive relationships among swimmers, and contribute to each swimmers personal growth and water confidence. Go Blue Dolphins!!! |
HEATHER CLEGG
Assistant Coach Hello! My name is Heather and I’m so excited to be back on the pool deck with you all this summer! Joining LNSRC Swim Team last summer really felt like home. I grew up out in California in a small town with one high school and one swim team! My mom tells me that when she put me in swim lessons, I had a massive fear of the water and spent the whole first week refusing to get in the water. When I finally did get in, I realized I actually loved it! So moms and dads with kids that are a little apprehensive of the water….keep trying, it’ll click when they are ready! I joined swim team at age 5 and ended up swimming competitively through college- two years at a Junior College and ended my swimming “career” at SDSU. As a teen, I was a life guard and swim instructor. I absolutely love being in the water and I love seeing and helping kids grow their confidence in improve at little athletes. I have two little girls who are returning Blue Dolphins this summer and I honestly feel so lucky to be able to be so involved in their experience in the sport that I love and shaped who I am today. You may ask, how does a sport impact who you grow up to be? Swimming taught me SO many things: the power of hard work, sense of belonging, patience, discipline (in the pool and in school), time management, self confidence, motivation, a desire to seek improvement, leadership skills, goal setting, humility and respect, and so much more! I could go on about swimming forever but I’ll leave you with this: Let’s get out there and swim fast, have fun and make some awesome memories and connections! Go Blue Dolphins!! |
JACKSON BENNETT
Assistant Coach I started swimming in summer league for Little Neck Swim & Racquet Club when I was in Kindergarten. I also swam year round with TIDE for 5 years. I am currently on the First Colonial High School swim team and lacrosse team. This will be my third year as a coach for Little Neck. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, being outdoors and playing guitar. |
EMMA MCMATH
Assistant Coach I'm Emma Mcmath and I'm thrilled to be back for my third year as a coach with the LNSRC Blue Dolphins! I dove into swimming at just 5 years old and swam competitively until I was 18. My journey has taken me through amazing teams, including First Colonial High School, Tide Swim Club, and of course, LNSRC. Currently, I'm a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, pursuing a major in Retail Management. Swimming has shaped who I am today, instilling valuable life lessons that I carry with me. I can't wait to make this summer unforgettable with all of you! |
VIOLET BAILEY
Assistant Coach
My name is Violet and I'm a 16 year old sophomore at Catholic High School. I've been swimming on club and summer league teams since I was 4 years old, and recently concluded my journey with TIDE Swimming after 5 years. I'm captain of Catholic's Varsity Swim Team and have been a member of the states qualifying team for three years now. This year, I will be joining TIDE Swim School's coaching staff at the Little Neck and Larkspur locations! Growing up through swimming has been one of my greatest blessings and has ultimately made me who I am today. Being a swimmer has guided me to understand the importance of holding yourself accountable, having confidence in your athletic performance, and most importantly, how to be a good teammate. As I continue to cherish my time in the pool, my biggest goal as a coach is to continue sharing my passion for swimming, while showing our team all of the amazing things that the sport has to offer. This will be my second summer coaching the LN Blue Dolphins and I could not be more excited!
